Winter Sports at CISS: Ice rink activities in the PE classes

release time:2023-02-20 13:28:26 Hits:

Enjoying the privilege of having a winter here in Shenyang where temperatures go below 0°. The Physical Education Teacher of CISS, Mr. Paulo Seabra, has taken advantage of the winter to introduce Ice Skating activities in regular physical education classes for grade 1 to grade 10 during the winter.

This winter activity is received with enthusiasm and excitement at CISS. All students engaged in the activity. Some got off to a shaky start and had to hold on, however, it didn't take long for them to master the skill.

Ice skating for students is not just fun and adventure, this sport requires focus, dedication and discipline. Ice skating is a challenging and rewarding lifelong activity that can improve students' cardiovascular and muscular strength, balance and coordination, gross and fine motor skills, as well as their social skills.

CISS students had a chance to enjoy this winter activity and show off their ice skills with the beautiful landscape of the mountains around the school like Qipanshan mountain.

PS:

* This year we were pleasantly surprised and attended by our MYP - English Teacher and Grade 10 Homeroom Teacher, Mr. Gordon MacRae, he's Canadian, and he came to show some of his Ice Hockey skills in one of our PE classes. Thanks Mr. Gordon for coming and joining our class.

** Thank you very much to the CISS school staff for the excellent job of building and maintaining our ice rink.
